Newsletter

Our chairman recently spearheaded a drive to move our communications into a higher gear, after a period of uncertainty following the tragic loss of MGB 60 to suspected arson.

The newsletter is now edited by Hugh Campbell, following the sudden retirement of David Harris due to illness. We are indebted to David for laying its solid foundations but very sadly we mourn his passing on March 8th.

New Film

The Trust's project to produce a Coastal Forces History DVD has got away to a flying start with the receipt of a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund. The film will trace the history of Coastal Forces WW1 to the late 1980s. It is intended to include action footage from the Imperial War Museum, TV and Film Companies and Private collections. A team of Trustees, headed by John Ascoli, has now appointed a well known Documentary Film maker, and the target for completion and launch is Remembrance Day in November.

Memorial Plaques

Memorial Plaques were installed at several more wartime CF bases during 2007—08. In all instances we have received much help and cooperation from Local Authorities and Officials. Locations have included Portland, Weymouth, Lowestoft, Gt. Yarmouth, Dartmouth and Malta. At each location a Service of Remembrance and Dedication was held.
